Pepperdata: Performance Management in Support of DevOps for Big Data

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Big data environments require specialized performance management tooling. Pepperdata recently announced its code analyzer for Apache Spark, adding it to its suite of application profilers and cluster analyzers for various on-premises and cloud-based big data environments.

For real-time, scale-out architectures like Apache Spark’s, monitoring and managing performance throughout the software lifecycle presents several unique challenges, as Spark depends upon real-time clustering, garbage collection, and sophisticated CPU, memory, and disk management.

Pepperdata gives developers the tools they need to build and deploy high performance Spark applications and ops personnel the tools they need to manage such applications. As enterprises move to DevOps, tools like Pepperdata are invaluable for fostering performance-related communication and collaboration for any big data initiative.
